The creator of this inspiring brand was a gentleman called Enzo Ferrari. He was originally employed by the Alfa Romeo company and eventually rose through the ranks to become the Director of the Alfa Racing Division until departing in 1939.
From an early age Enzo Ferrari was involved in motor racing. Initially as a boy, then with his employer Alfa Racing, and eventually establishing Scuderia Ferrari in Modena in 1929.
The Ferrari workshop located in Maranello had to be rebuilt in 1946, and this was the first year that the company started to design and build the first Ferrari. In 1960 the business was turned into a joint stock company in which Fiat became a 50-50 partner in 1969. Enzo Ferrari died in Modena on August 14 1988.
The company struggled at first to continue without the leadership of its founder. However the strength of the brand and the people still at the company meant that Ferrari would live on and be active in both racing and road car production markets.
Today, Ferrari is present in 52 markets worldwide and exports almost 90% of the cars it builds. Ferrari GB is one of five direct Ferrari branches worldwide and represents one of the largest and sophisticated global markets.
Purchasing and running a car as exclusive as a Ferrari calls for secure, high-level financial and Ferrari Car Insurance services. Membership of the Ferrari Owners Club is open to anyone who either owns or has owned a Ferrari.
The Club is international in concept, with members in 36 different countries. It has something to offer all its members, whether their interests lie in competition, the realisation of the performance built into their cars, finding value-for-money insurance deals, the excellence in presentation, socialising or simply enjoying the Club's magazines and web site.
