The Fiat organisation began its existence over a century ago. An iconoclastic emblem for Italian motoring, the Fiat name and badge is recognised across the globe for its outstanding automobile heritage. The first factory opened in 1900 employing just 150 workers, and initially producing just 24 cars.
The beginnings of Fiat coincided with the dawn of Italian industrialisation. From humble origins the company grew quickly within its' domestic market, then spreading throughout the world as the twentieth century rolled on. The Fiat logo, oval on a blue background and designed by Biscaretti, was officially adopted in 1904, and has changed only very slightly over the last 100 hundred years.
Towards the end of the 20th century Fiat introduced a number of new vehicles and designs. These included the Fiat Tempra, Barchetta, the Fiat Bravo and Brava, Marea, Fiat Palio, Seicento, the 500, Ulysse, Multipla, Fiat Punto, and Fiat Coupé - with bodywork designed by Pininfarina and Centro Stile Fiat.
Problems during this same period at the company dictated a necessary change in direction and strategy. Manufacturing plants and techniques were overhauled with a shake up of distribution channels. Newcomers to the Fiat range are the Fiat Idea, available since January 2004, and the Multijet fuel saving engine technology. The Panda was also voted the Car of the Year in 2004.
Whether your need is personal or for your business, a suitable Fiat Car Insurance policy will provide you with the right solution. The company can make sure you find the right protection so you can enjoy every minute with your car. A GAP Plan will cover the shortfall between your motor insurer settlement figure and the balance of your outstanding finance up to a max of £ 7500 in the event of your Fiat being stolen and written off.
